In my life I’ve always come across two types of people, one who pay importance to their looks and dressing and others who consider it a wasteful indulgence.
I always respect a personal point of view but on the other hand I do feel that there are added advantages attached to your dressing well i.e if you dress up smartly and intelligently. But folks there is a very fine line between being a fashion victim and being fashionably dressed. I know, I know, right now there must be two Questions already popping up in your brains – (1) What is the difference between a fashion victim and being fashionably dressed, aren’t they one and same. (2) Another Question – Why a personality groomer is talking about dressing – an arena solely reserved for designers.
I would answer your 2nd Question first. As an image consultant I’m keenly aware of how others dress and how not dressing well takes a toll on their self esteem which in turn portrays poor personality image.
Don’t we feel ready and happy to meet people when our mirror says that we are looking good because even if we do not agree, still it holds true that the way we look affects the way we think, feel, act and conduct ourselves. So when we look great we look forward to seeing people, act friendlier and not get conscious when they look at us, there is a new found confidence which gives out a personality which is positive in its dealings and hence your personal image is greatly enhanced and isn’t that we all want.
On the other hand the day we are sloppily dressed we cross our fingers not to run into anybody of importance and if at all we come across somebody we start feeling and acting uncomfortable and under confident. This momentary act of ours which might not be true to us, compels the other person to carry a negative image of ours and don’t we all want to avoid this. This article is an answer to the 2nd Question whereas the 1st Question will be answered in my following write up which will enable you to think, act and dress smartly and intelligently and which in turn will give an image boost your personality.
Q.1 Is it true that we have to keep in mind our work arena when we are dressing up? Shivank sharma
Ans 1 Yes it is always advised that you keep in mind what is your profession, it is according to the professional requirement that we choose an attire suitable to its needs, hence a service industry personnel would definitely dress up differently from somebody from medical profession.
